Turlock police are looking for two suspects who allegedly robbed Yonan’s Jewelers at gunpoint on Wednesday morning.

At approximately 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday, two masked suspects, one armed with a firearm and the other with a sledgehammer, entered Yonan’s Jewelers, located at 2485 Geer Rd., said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

The two suspects first ordered everyone to the ground, said Lewis. Then suspect with the sledgehammer destroyed a display case and stole an undisclosed amount of property.

After leaving the store, the suspects fled the area in a vehicle. Officers were able to locate the vehicle several blocks away on De Pauw Drive, but the suspects were not located, said Lewis. No property was found in the vehicle.

Witnesses in the area told police they had seen a second vehicle fleeing the area, said Lewis.

The suspects were described as adult males standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inch and weighing between 180 and 220 pounds. Both suspects were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes. The suspects were both masked.

No injuries were reported from the robbery.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the whereabouts of the suspects are asked to call Detective Tim Reed of the Turlock Police Department at 209-664-7325.
