Turlock Downtown Festival of Lights on Black Friday

TurlockCityNews.com

The 16th Annual Turlock Festival of Lights aims to provide Turlockers with an evening of lights, shopping and fun for all ages on Black Friday.

Taking place on Friday, Nov. 28 from 5 to 9 p.m., the festival will consist of its customary countdown to lighting the Christmas tree in Central Park in addition to a scavenger hunt that’s unique to this year’s event.

The countdown begins at 6:45 p.m., with the Christmas tree lighting to follow at 7 p.m. at Downtown Turlock’s Central Park, located on the corner of Main Street and Golden State Boulevard.

For those looking to participate in the scavenger hunt, be sure to pick up the card at any Downtown business and match the clues to the establishment in question.

Participants only need to have 10 clues figured out in order to drop off the card at the DJ stand in Central Park. Those who won will be notified on Dec. 1.

  1. Wow! says:

A positive article about something happening in Turlock!?!? DJ must have the day off.

  2. Disappointed says:

What happened?! The city went back ten years … Few festive booths, streets open with cars zooming through crowds, no festive build up to countdown. Where is the safety of the street fair atmosphere? What happened to the stage with groups caroling?
Sidewalks were sad and the Christmas feel just not the same.

  3. Disappointed, Too says:

Agreed. It was dark as h*ll, too. Not very festive. But, hey, if you wanted to buy swap meet junk in the dark, then this “festival” was for you. Great job Downtown Assoc and Chamber–way to spend that $249K!
