Important Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday

With many holiday festivities going on in the next few days and many shopping locations open despite the holiday, it is important to remember that some important places will be closed.

All City of Turlock agencies will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, as well as Friday, Nov. 28; if you have any water or sewer related emergencies, contact the City at 209-668-1200.

Turlock Police and Fire Department Administration offices will also be closed both Thursday and Friday should an individual need to do any administrative business, like paying a parking ticket. However, Turlock Police Officers and Firefighters will be on duty to protect the community on both days.

The United States Postal Service will be closed for the holiday but will resume regular schedule Friday, Nov. 28.

Bank of America, Rabobank, Wells Fargo, BBVA Compass, F&M Banks, U.S. Bank, Bank of the West and Chase Bank locations will be closed for Thanksgiving and open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. Valley First Credit Union and Mocse Federal Credit Union locations in Turlock will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving

Turlock Irrigation District offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, and will reopen Monday. For outages and emergencies, call TID’s 24-hour service line at 209-883-8301.

The Pacific Gas and Electric pay-station located at 135 N. Center St. will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Monday. If you smell natural gas, see downed power lines, or notice an emergency situation, leave the area immediately, call 911 and then PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.

For emergencies, always call 911.
