Turlock police are looking for the suspect that allegedly sexually assaulted a female victim near Donnelly Park during the late hours of Saturday.

The report came in at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, however the incident occurred approximately an hour before.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a 44-year-old female victim was sitting on a bench at Donnelly Park, across from the apartments located at 381 W. Hawkeye Ave.

The victim was approached from behind by an unknown male subject, who placed what the victim believed may have been a knife to her side, said Lewis.

The suspect then forced the victim to walk to the alley behind the apartment and then allegedly sexually assaulted her, said Lewis.

According to Lewis, the only description of the suspect is a male with a medium build and medium skin tone. He was seen wearing grey shoes.

Donnelly Park has been the site for multiple attacks in recent years, including an attempted sexual assault that occurred in July 2013 and an attempted murder in the same month.

Anyone with information on the sexual assault can contact the Turlock Police Department at 209-668-5550.

horrible you cant even go to a park without fearing for your life. granted that is an odd hour to be out and about, but you would think with the reputation that are has, that the police would have better security over it.
