Here comes Santa Claus — riding on a fire truck.
Beginning on Dec. 1, Santa — with the help of Turlock Firefighters Local #2434 — will be riding through Turlock neighborhoods to wish area residents a Merry Christmas.
Santa will be in town until Dec. 20, riding through neighborhoods every night from around 6 p.m. until the route is done — which will take around two and half or three hours, said Turlock Fire Captain Frank Saldivar.
“Some areas are a little bigger than others so it takes us a little longer, and some areas are a little small so we get them done by 8:15 or 8:30 [p.m.],” said Saldivar, adding that they want to make sure each route is done by 9 p.m. to ensure children are still awake to see Santa.
The only night Santa will not be riding through neighborhoods will be Dec. 5, as Santa will be in the Turlock Christmas Parade. Days may also be skipped due to weather, but Turlock Firefighters typically try to make up those days on Dec. 21, 22, or 23.
To find out when Santa will be in your neighborhood, visit the Turlock Fire Department website and type in your your address.
Schedules and updates will also be posted daily on the Turlock Firefighters Local #2434 Facebook, www.facebook.com/IAFFlocal2434.
