A pair of Turlock girls, Katelyn Foster from Walnut Elementary and Mya Sanchez from Medeiros Elementary, were honored for their championship accomplishments in the NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition (PPK) during halftime of the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers game.

Katelyn and Mya, who competed in the 9/10 and 10/11 year old girls divisions, respectively, spent many hours practicing their skills and demonstrating their commitment to learning and working hard to reach their goals.

For Mya, it was her fourth consecutive year being a champion and appearing at an NFL stadium, twice at Raiders games and twice at the 49ers games.

Katelyn’s father, Josh Foster, commented on his daughter’s accomplishment and the importance of programs like PPK.

“Her mother and I couldn’t be more proud of her. She has always been very outgoing and this will only encourage her to continue to try new things and give it her all. These types of programs are necessary to help children develop confidence and prove that through hard work, dedication and commitment nothing is unachievable. We are very thankful for the PPK Program and their volunteers.”
