While Turlockers have posted and reached out to TurlockCityNews.com to ask for details on the possible gunshots heard on Monday afternoon, the Turlock Police Department says they are most likely from the firearm training.
According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb, the Turlock Police Department has not received reports of gunfire that he was aware of.
However, Webb said that the Turlock Police Department is conducting firearm training at the firing range.
Typically the police department will receive a couple of reports of gunshots while training is going on, said Webb.
On Dec. 10, multiple gunshots were fired at the Park Knolls Apartments, leaving one male victim wounded. Several neighbors in the area believed the shots were fireworks at the time of hearing them.
Citizens can report hearing gunshots at the non-emergency number at 209-668-1200 or call 911 if it is an emergency.
