Three suspects in a Turlock home invasion are facing a mountain of charges after the Ceres Police Department SWAT Team helped apprehend the suspects on Wednesday.

Justin Singh, 27, Austin Singh, 21, and Climon Adari, 26, were arrested Wednesday morning and face multiple charges including robbery and possession of an assault weapon.

Turlock police officers responded to the 1200 block of Lambert Way just after midnight on Wednesday on the report of a home invasion.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, three suspects, one armed with an AR-15, entered the home and forcefully took several items from a resident.

Justin Singh and Adari allegedly took the victim’s purse and other personal items while Austin Singh waited by the door with the AR-15, said Lewis. The suspects then fled in a white SUV.

Authorities were able to locate the suspects as Justin Singh is on active probation and has an ankle monitor.

The Ceres Police Department was able to locate the suspects at a residence near Whitmore and Rose avenues in Ceres thanks to the GPS monitor.

Ceres SWAT responded to the residence with an armored vehicle and contacted the suspects, who were in the white SUV.

The suspects attempted to flee in the vehicle, however SWAT rammed into the vehicle to disable it, according to a post on the Ceres SWAT Facebook page.

The suspects in the vehicle immediately surrendered and were detained, along with several others, said Lewis.

Authorities located the assault rifle, with the laser sight on, in the vehicle, according to Ceres SWAT. A large quantity of marijuana was also located.

Members of the Turlock Police Department, Modesto Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department also responded to assist the Ceres Police Department.

“The teamwork of all Law Enforcement Agencies in this county is second to none,” Ceres SWAT wrote on their Facebook page. “We would like to thanks those agencies for their quick response and willingness to help.”

Justin and Austin Singh were both arrested for robbery, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a short-barrelled rifle, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. Justin Singh was also arrested for violation of his probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Adari was arrested for robbery and possession of an assault weapon.

Anyone with information on this home invasion are asked to contact Turlock Police Department Detective Jason Tosta at 209-668-5550 ext. 6624.

So this was a bad deal and these dudes definitely need to do time for it. But the only thing that makes that ar-15 illegal is the use of it in a crime and possibly not having a bullet button.
It IS NOT AN ASSAULT RIFLE. it is an AR15 pistol. And that is not a stock (creating an SBR), it is a sigtac armbrace. Falling far with the ATF laws of AR pistol legality.
Hope they drop thoae charges… a good lawyer might run with them and get these dudea completely free just because cops dont even know what to qualify a weapon as.
Do your homework LEOs… dont want bad guys set free because you want to charge them with extra stuff.

Breaking and entering is not an actual crime in California. No penal code on the books says anything about breaking and entering. Trespassing, robbery, assault and burglary however would all likely apply here.

And to add, the ATF and CA DOJ concluded that a SIG Brace on a AR pistol does not make it a SBS, unless it is shouldered.

These idiots deserve to have the book thrown at them though.

Correct, and the fact that one of them was violating his parole by having a weapon was illegal as well. And I don’t see a short barreled rifle, I see an AR15 Pistol.

Just wondering . . . Does it sell more papers or increase ratings to call semiautomatic guns assault weapon? . . .
Ore is it that you, Brandon, just are not a very good journalist and haven’t done your research and don’t know what you are talking about?

Wow, you can tell from their pictures that these guys are definitely Rhodes Scholars. They tracked them down because of his GPS ankle monitor. These guys have said, “yep, we gave up on life”.

Can you guys not be so rude to Brandon? He purely stated the facts for what the guys were arrested for. If the facts are wrong then blame the cops who wrote that in the reports.

Dumb lawyers bringing dumb charges. I hate to be in the position of having to defend home invaders, because these are clearly bad guys who need to be behind bars, but that short-barreled rifle charge must be defeated. Hopefully the moronic DA who filed the charges will actually get around to reading the CA DOJ and ATF letters stating that that gun is not a short-barreled rifle. But given that he filed the charges to begin with, I don’t have high hopes for his cranial capacity.

The author of this article is even dumber. A “laser sight?” So what? Many weapons in CA have a laser sight. Perfectly legal. What’s the point of even mentioning that?

Based on the following quote from this website, it doesn’t appear to matter whether the weapon is a rifle or a pistol. Both are illegal in CA: http://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/agweb/pdfs/firearms/forms/awguide.pdf

Category 1. The Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act of 1989

This was California’s first assault weapons act. Under this act, any firearm on a list specified in Penal Code section 12276 is considered an assault weapon. Such assault weapons are controlled (i.e., may not be legally purchased, kept for sale, offered for sale, exposed for sale, given, lent, manufactured, distributed, or imported) after December 31, 1991, and were required to be registered as assault weapons with the Department of Justice on or before March 31, 1992. In addition, the Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act controlled AK and AR-15 series assault weapons (Penal Code section 12276, subd (e) and (f) – see Category 2). These assault weapons are controlled regardless of whether they have Category 3 (Penal Code section 12276.1 – SB 23) characteristics. The only legal option for Category 1 assault weapons that were not registered on or before March 31, 1992, is to surrender them to law enforcement pursuant to Penal Code section 12288.

Arthur there are huge differences between a spatula and an AR-15. Just picture those guy’s trying to pull off the same heist with a kitchen tool. Your comparison is so flawed. I’m Laughing my ass off. Since there the same I would love to see you comfront a guy with an assault rifle or gun with a burger flipper…. Too funny
