The Turlock Irrigation District had a busy year in terms of service calls, with staff receiving nearly 4,600 service calls during 2014.
Of the 4,595 service calls, 1,565 calls were after regular hours. Overall, during 2014, TID had 425 crew calls — 228 of which were after regular hours — 88 feeder relays, and 122 car versus poles.
TID crews had busy days on Feb. 4, 2014, as well as Dec. 11, 2014. On Feb. 4, southwest Turlock suffered a large power outage after a vehicle hit a power pole on Bradbury Road near Washington Road. The areas of Walnut, Harding, Washington, and Bradbury roads suffered outages throughout the night.
On Dec. 11, a large storm hit the Turlock area, causing multiple outages, although TID staff worked hard to keep power on for local residents.
If you are experiencing an outage for more than five minutes, you can contact TID’s 24-hour service line at 209-883-8301. It is recommended that, prior to calling, you cautiously locate your electrical service panel and check to see if the main circuit breaker has flipped to the “off” or “trip” position.
