The Turlock Police Department is investigating a shooting on Friday night that left one wounded.
The shooting was reported shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday at Columbia Park, located at 595 High St.
One male was shot by an unknown subject, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg, said Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Neil Cervenka.

At this time, there are no suspects or descriptions available. There has been little cooperation with the Turlock Police Department, including from the victim, said Cervenka.

turlock is turning into a ghetto plain and simple. the churches are attracting homeless for free labor for their car washes (even though we are experiencing record drought and regular folks cannot wash their cars in the drive way – turlock churches get a pass), real estate is too high leading to a renter town. the assyrians and indians all act as though they were raised in Compton although most were not born here or are first generation. there is a lack of culture unless it is main stream. the portuguese dairy family act as though they are royalty yet most only have money from government farmer welfare checks.
turlock pretty much is infested with people who only get money from the state and thus have no incentive to act like cordial, mannered, courteous people.
Yeah.. I’m pretty sure whatever good that’s left in Turlock will move the minute they can or are too old to move. Turlock is becoming the next Stockton. A once legend of a good place to live.
Latinos have been shooting and stabbing one another at Columbia park for the last 30 years that I remember. It’s only getting worse. They need to take a good look at themselves and their culture and stop blaming it on “the system”. It’s really simple. 1. Don’t have a bunch of kids you can’t afford to raise properly. 2. More than half of Latinos in the valley have at least one kid by the age of 19. Stop it. Don’t be teen parents. 3. Stay away from gangs and make sure your kids do too.
