The Turlock Irrigation District is reporting several small outages in Turlock and surrounding areas due to lightning strikes.

“At approximately 1:25 this afternoon, TID became aware of scattered power outages in the rural areas surrounding Turlock, Hughson and Hilmar due to lightning strikes,“ said TID spokesperson Calvin Curtin in a statement.

Outages being reported in Turlock, include areas in northeast Turlock and rural areas near Turlock and Hughson. TID is also reporting outages in several areas of Hilmar and Delhi.

“We are working now to restore power to all affected customers,” said Curtin. “As of now, we don‘t have any information regarding the number of customers affected.”

The estimated return time of power for affected customers is unknown at this time.

TurlockCityNews.com will continue to update the status of the power outages.
