Turlock Resident, Transient Arrested for Auto Theft

Two male suspects are facing auto theft charges after being found in a Honda that had been stolen out of Ceres last week.

Jose Rosas Vazquez, 19 years old, of Turlock, and Tony Antonio Perez, 31 years old, transient, were arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen automobile.

On March 17, Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force (StanCATT) officers observed a Honda Accord that had been reported stolen out of Ceres the day prior.

Officers spotted the vehicle on Berkeley Avenue in Turlock and request the assistance of Turlock Police Department to make a traffic stop.

The suspect were followed into Merced County, where it eventually stopped at the gas station on the corner of Shanks Road and Latteau Avenue in Delhi.

With the assistance of Turlock police, an enforcement stop was made and both suspects were safely taken into custody.

In addition to the auto theft related charges, Vazquez was also served a felony warrant for spousal abuse out of Stanislaus County.
