Two suspects were arrested on April 28 after they both pulled out weapons during an argument with a victim.

Officers received a report of an assault and battery near the Jack in the Box and Save Mart on Geer Road shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a male suspect, later identified as Thomas Miller, 30, had pulled out a knife and threatening the victim with it during an argument.

The other suspect, later identified as Edward Souza, 22, who was with Miller, pulled down his pants to grab a metal bar, which he brandished at the victim, said Lewis.

When officers arrived, they found that Miller was in possession of a stolen bicycle, which was returned to the elderly woman it belonged to, said Lewis.

Miller was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and possession of stolen property, as well as a parole violation and possession of methamphetamine.

Souza, who originally gave the name of a relative to police, was arrested for brandishing a weapon, indecent exposure, and false impersonation.

You mean to tell us these guys had methamphetamines on them or in them. I don’t understand why it gets to this point other then tpd allowing it. Geer rd. Is a pretty decent area well used to be when i was a kid but I’ve driven down it and spotted meth heads talking to themselves and roaming around numerous times. Maybe someone can open up a doughnut shop in that vicinity

This website is horrid. Instead of showing the great, positive events and happenings in Turlock and the area, the reporters highlight all that is negative. Why would a business owner come here? We need owners who actually want to promote Turlock, not degrade it. Shut this down.

These two guys resemble the TCN staff. Most of the stories are terrible, with half-truths and more misspellings than a 3rd grader’s homework. It’s time to boycott the advertisers.

I thought the guy on the left was our kid Mayor’s brother-in-law who burned down the Red Steer.

I would imagine you are one of the morons who voted for the “safe streets and schools act” which makes many crimes, including meth possession, a misdemeanor. Keep blamin’ the cops, when it is the ignorant that are the problem.

I don’t understand your point, but would like some explanation of how those two guys (one who I was told is the Kid Mayor’s brother-in-law, did not serve jail time and how did that happen?

Is anyone else tired of the cops complaining about every part of their jobs. The Turlock officers I know are hard-working and want to make our city a better place. Why is there only anonymous complaints on this website?

5 patrol officers, maybe 6 on a good day, on duty for 70,000 people. And some people expect them to be everywhere every time something happens. Come out for a ride along and educate yourself. And thanks to those who voted for prop 47, the drug problem in Turlock will continue to get worse. This is not complaining, this is reality based on facts.

Maybe if they were paid an average salary, rather than an exorbitant one we would have more on the streets at any given time?

Are you kidding me. They can barely fill the positions they have now due to low wages. Lower them more and watch them leave. Educate yourself Ever hear of the phrase “you get what you pay for”?
