Registration is now open for Turlock parties as part of America’s 2015 National Night Out Against Crime on Aug. 4.
Parties who register by July 17 will receive a special visit from Turlock police officers, firefighters, City officials, McGruff the Crime Dog, or Blue Santa.
National Night Out is held annually to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime programs, such as Neighborhood Watch, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
All around Turlock neighborhoods will host block parties, cookouts, barbecues, and ice cream socials to celebrate National Night Out.
A coordinator/block caption appreciation dinner and meeting will be hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 23 at a location to be determined at a later date.
Last year, Turlock was highly ranked for its National Night Out events, placing second in California and No. 20 in the nation among cities of populations between 50,000 and 99,000.
