A drunk driver was arrested the night of May 26 after attempting flee from officers he had approached and crashing into the fence at his house.
Officers in the 300 block of Farr Street were contacted by a driver who appeared to be intoxicated around 8:40 p.m. on May 26.
The driver had stopped and talked to one of the officers, who were on scene for an unrelated incident, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
When the officer, who could tell that the driver was intoxicated, told the driver to get out of the car, the suspect fled in his vehicle, driving erratically, said Lewis.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop until he crashed into a fence, that turned out to be his residence, said Lewis.
He then got out of the vehicle and tried to run into his home. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect after a struggle.
Juan Gonzalez, 33, was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license.
