Kurtis Van Foeken (43) took first place in the motorhome class on Wednesday night.

The Stanislaus County Fair was home to two days of twisted metal and head jerking crashes at this year’s Destruction Derby.

Day one was well represented by Turlock boys, with five of the night’s contestants driving and slamming in front of their home crowd.

In Heat 1, Turlock’s Fred Neto was bested by Jose Ayon, of Modesto, for the first place spot. However, Neto’s second place was good enough to get him into the final heat later that night.

Turlockers dominated Heat 2 though, with Chris Camp and Marks Cabral nabbed the top two spots.

In day one’s final, it was Denair’s Tony Silveira who ran away with first place and the $2,500 prize. Camp and Neto rounded out the top three, winning $1,250 and $750, respectively.

The first night of destruction wouldn’t have been complete without a little motorhome mayhem. Behemoth wrecked and crashed through the arena, much to the delight of spectators.

Bryce Mathews, of Gridley, took the top honor, followed by Eddie Dixon, of Turlock, and Greg Mathews, of Ceres.

Day two of the destruction derby featured even more mayhem than day one and had one Hilmar resident steal the show.

Kurtis Van Foeken, of Hilmar, managed to sweep his three events on the night, taking first in the light trucks category, motorhomes, and the open final. Van Foeken took home a whopping $3,700 in winnings on the night.

Turlock’s Cheyanne Cabral took the top spot in the powder puff category on night two, winning $650.

Full results of both night can be found below.
