The controversial new Taco Bell located on the corner of Golden State Boulevard and Roberts Road officially opened this month.
The restaurant, located at 3606 N. Golden State Blvd., has been under construction for months and now becomes the third Taco Bell in town.
When the fast food restaurant was approved by Turlock Planning Commission in July 2014, nearby property owners protested the permit.
Pam and Ray Franco, owners of eight rental properties across Mountain View Road from the proposed Taco Bell, filed the public appeal against the Planning Commission’s approval, which put the permit in the hands of Turlock City Council.
Council ultimately approved the restaurant’s permit on Aug. 26, 2014 after the applicants and appellants had an extended talk to work out details of the restaurant.
The new Taco Bell dining area is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday and drive-thru is open until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
