The suspect, later identified as Gary Reinhardt, 21, had successfully unlocked the door when the off-duty officers approached him, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

After stopping the burglary, the off-duty officers broadcasted the suspect’s description to patrol units, who found him a short time later.

Why was the officer off duty when we have so much crime in this city? He should have been somewhere on duty and maybe we could finally get crime rates down!
