Drunk Driver Crashes Into Parked Car, Arrested

Turlock police arrested a drunk driver early on Sunday after he reportedly crashed into a parked vehicle, injuring one passenger.

Edwin Escalante, 25, was arrested and booked for felony DUI.

Turlock police received report of a dangerous driver that was possibly driving under the influence around 12:46 a.m. Sunday.

The driver had reportedly just taken the W. Main Street exit from Highway 99 and was headed into town.

Before officers could check the area, the vehicle crashed into a parked car near the intersection of W. Main Street and Grant Avenue.

Officers arrived and found that the driver, Escalante, had been driving under the influence and had a preliminary blood alcohol level of .22. He was subsequently arrested.

A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries from the collision.
