Turlock Shines, with the goal of reestablishing small town community, is looking for any organization, club, business, or resident to volunteer their time to show the beauty of the city.
The 7th Turlock Shines event will take place on Saturday. The citywide cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Turlock Shines is promoting 107 years of beauty, working towards 107 more.
The volunteer project is looking for teams of people to help for this year’s event. The cleanup will begin at Donnelly Park, Area “J” , at the intersection of Pedras Road and Julie Street (north side of the park), and continue throughout the city.
Team volunteers should be at least sixteen years of age or older, but children younger than sixteen can attend, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Clean-up teams must be no less than four people, and no more than ten, with one person appointed as a group leader. To sign up, email Richard Fortado at firstname.lastname@example.org, or simply visit the Turlock Fire Department at 244 N. Broadway Street.
The deadline for sign-up sheets is Thursday, Oct. 8.
Once completed, forms can be emailed to email@example.com.
Turlock Shines will then contact your organization with more information, as well as instructions. Volunteers are being asked to bring their own gloves, as well as gardening tools on the day of the event.
