California State University, Stanislaus has a scholarship fund drive will be coming to a close on Thursday. The drive, known as One Purpose, is a six week campaign that was inaugurated last year.

Acting as the annual fundraising arm for California State University, Stanislaus, the drive provides academic scholarships to help students succeed. One Purpose relies on donations from the community, both individuals and corporations.

Last year, 175 volunteers and 750 donors raised $818,841; 50 percent of the donors who gave to the drive were first time donors to the university. In the drive’s final few days for this year, donors have been able to accumulate $214, 211 out of the 1 million dollar goal.

-Invitation for two to a 2016 University Speaker Series Special Event
-Invitation for Two to a 2016 President’s Appreciation Dinner and Program Recognition
-8 – 2016 Vines Tickets

Currently, around 170 students have benefitted from the One Purpose scholarship. This merit-based scholarship has been received by Modesto native Akaash Sharma and local Pitman High School graduate Marcelle Winkler.

“Every single person who has seen the faces of the students is motivated to fundraise for scholarships because they get to see the product of their work,” Frank Borrelli, Stanislaus State Support Services Manager, said. “The most important and motivating part of this campaign is that we are doing this for the students. One Purpose volunteers are focused on helping them achieve success, which makes a difference for the future of our Valley.”
