Looking for a new way to work out can be challenging, but Turlockers can now sign up for barre classes at the new Barre Defined fitness studio owned by Amy Radcliffe and Stacy Aguilar. The studio is bringing this new kind of workout to the Turlock area.
Barre is a low impact ballet style workout that works for anyone, no matter their age or fitness level. Being a ballerina is not required to try out this trendy workout.
Aguilar notes that Barre classes are completely different than traditional weight training.
“Barre class fuses elements of dance conditioning, pilates, yoga and weight training, but is really it’s own unique methodology and there is absolutely no dancing. If you can hold onto the barre, you can do barre!”
Each class is an hour long intense workout that will leave you shaking, which Aguilar claims is the point. Class times are tentatively set and subject to change, currently ranging from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
A single class costs $15 while an unlimited monthly pass costs $119. Special sticky socks are required and can be purchased in the lobby of the studio.
Registration for classes are now open and spots are filling up quickly, so make sure to sign up before all the spots are taken.
To attend classes, online registration is required due to limited space. Walk-ins will only be accommodated if space is available.
Barre Defined is located at 2241 Geer Road in Turlock.
