Man remodeling home assaulted by burglar Thursday afternoon

On Thursday, November 26th, 2020, at approximately 1:55 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a residential burglary in progress in the 800 block of N Berkeley Ave. The reporting party, who was the homeowner, stated that he had arrived at his home, which was being remodeled at the time and found an unknown subject inside it. The subject then armed himself with a large sledgehammer and assaulted the homeowner with it.

The homeowner was then able to restrain the subject until officers could arrive. When officers did arrive, they took Thomas Miller, 36, of Turlock into custody. Miller was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of aggravated assault, burglary, and vandalism.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
