Man arrested after robbing supermarket Friday morning

On Friday, February 12th, 2021, at approximately 9:20 am, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a shoplifting that had turned into a robbery at the Grocery Outlet located at 1330 W Main St. The caller, who was an employee at the business, reported a male had stolen merchandise and pulled a knife on him when confronted. The caller then allowed the suspect to leave but followed him at a safe distance providing dispatch with location updates.

An officer got out with the suspect in the 900 block of Vermont Ave and ordered him to get on the ground. The suspect refused to comply and was tased. He was then detained without further incident and positively identified as the suspect by a witness. Officers developed probable cause and therefore placed the suspect, who was identified as Kyle Sierra, 32, of Ceres under arrest. Sierra was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery and resisting a peace officer.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
