At about 8:25 pm Sunday evening, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of West Main Street and North Soderquist Road, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located two vehicles involved. One was a silver Subaru SUV and the other was a bicycle. The driver of the SUV was uninjured. The bicyclist was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Witnesses reported that the SUV was traveling eastbound on West Main Street in the left lane approaching North Soderquist Road and preparing to make a left turn when the collision occurred. When the collision occurred, the bicyclist was ejected off of her bike into the roadway while the SUV dragged the bicycle underneath it to the corner of the intersection.
The right lane was closed for about an hour while officers investigated.
A tow truck was called to assist with removing the bicycle from underneath the SUV, however, the SUV was able to be driven away from the scene.
