At about 12:24 pm Thursday afternoon, the Turlock Police Department and Turlock Fire Department were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with no injuries behind O’Reilly Auto Parts, 2200 West Monte Vista Avenue, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they located a single vehicle involved in the collision. That vehicle was a white Volvo semi truck. Its driver, who was its only occupant, suffered no injuries.

The semi-truck had collided with a fire hydrant behind the business and knocked it off of its post. This caused a thirty feet geyser for several minutes until firefighters could shut off the water valve leading to the hydrant.

City crews responded and resecured the fire hydrant onto its post.

It is currently unknown how the collision occurred.
