At about 7:39 pm Monday evening, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at Dos Coyotes Border Cafe, 3100 Hotel Drive, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located two vehicles involved. One was a silver Toyota sedan and the other was a black Toyota sedan. The driver of the silver Toyota sedan suffered minor injuries but refused to be transported to the hospital. The driver and passenger of the black Toyota sedan did not suffer any injuries.
Officers began their investigation and discovered that both vehicles were traveling westbound on West Monte Vista Avenue in the far right lane when the silver Toyota sedan rear-ended the black Toyota sedan while it was turning into the parking lot of Dos Coyotes Border Cafe.
The silver Toyota sedan suffered moderate damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision. A tow truck was called for it, but it’s driver took his chances and drove off in it, taking the back roads to get home after officers left. The black Toyota sedan suffered minor damage and was able to be driven away.
