At about 9:05 pm Monday night, a Turlock Police officer near Venice Motel, 1114 North Golden State Boulevard, observed a vehicle violating a section of the California Vehicle Code and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver pulled the vehicle into the Venice Motel parking lot, where the officer made contact with him and his passenger. When the officer conducted a warrant check on the vehicle’s passenger, Nico Vigil, 29, of Ceres, he learned that he had two felony warrants totaling just over $200,000. One was out of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault and the other was out of the Turlock Police Department for grand theft.

Vigil was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on those two warrants.

The driver of the vehicle was lectured and released for his Vehicle Code violation.
