At about 2:51 pm Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with unknown injuries on the W Taylor Rd off-ramp of southbound State Route 99, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a single vehicle involved, which was a blue Hyundai sedan.
Its driver, who was its only occupant, was uninjured.
The vehicle sustained moderate injuries, was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, and had to be towed away from the scene.
Officers began investigating and determined that the vehicle was traveling southbound in the right lane of State Route 99 approaching W Taylor Rd, when its driver fell asleep, the vehicle veered to the right, and collided with the exit sign.
