At about 1:00 am Wednesday morning, a Stanislaus County Sheriff deputy at the intersection of North Golden State Boulevard and Fulkerth Road, Turlock, on-viewed a vehicle commit a violation of the California Vehicle Code. The deputy attempted to stop it, however, its driver, later identified as Joseph Krueger, 36, of Ceres, failed to stop for the deputy.

Krueger led the deputy, other deputies and Turlock Police officers who joined the pursuit around town, before eventually coming to a stop near the intersection of North Golden State Boulevard and 20th Century Boulevard.

Deputies and officers conducted a high risk stop on Krueger, holding him at gunpoint and ordering him to comply. Krueger originally refused to comply, however, eventually did after being shot with a less-than-lethal bean bag round.

Krueger was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard for public safety and resisting a peace officer.
