At about 7:21 pm Friday evening, a Turlock Police officer in the 1300 block of South Washington Road, Turlock, came upon a vehicle collision with injuries in the roadway.
Two vehicles were involved. One was a silver Acura sedan and the other was a silver Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the silver Acura sedan was uninjured and the driver of the silver Chevrolet pickup truck suffered minor injuries, however, refused to be transported to the hospital.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
Officers began investigating and determined that the silver Acura sedan was traveling southbound while the silver Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound. For an unknown reason, the silver Acura sedan entered the northbound lanes and collided head on with the silver Chevrolet pickup truck.
Officers noticed signs of intoxication coming from the driver of the silver Acura sedan and began conducting standardized field sobriety tests on him. As a result of those tests, officers made the decision to place him under arrest.
He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on unknown charges. His identity is currently unknown.
