At about 2:37 am Monday morning, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of East Olive Avenue and North First Street, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a pedestrian down that had been struck by a train.
The pedestrian suffered major injuries which he succumbed to at impact. He was later identified as Frank Fink, 41, of Turlock. The train’s crew was uninjured.
The train sustained no damage and was able to be driven away from the scene.
Officers began investigating and determined that the train was traveling northbound through the area when it hit Fink who was on the tracks wearing all black. The train was stopped for about an hour and half while blocking all crossings between West Canal Drive and West F Street so that officers could investigate.
