At about 11:06 pm Thursday night, a Turlock Police officer near Arco AMPM, 210 North Golden State Boulevard, Turlock, on-viewed a vehicle commit a violation of the California Vehicle Code. The officer got behind the vehicle and attempted to pull it over by activating his emergency lights, when the driver, later identified as Albert Jauregui, 50, of Modesto, pulled into the gas station.
The officer made contact with Jauregui and asked for his drivers license, when he told him that he didnโt have one. The officer asked Jauregui for his name and he provided a fake one, telling him that he just came from Mexico and thatโs why he didnโt have a license yet.
After doing some investigating, the officer was able to determine that the name Jauregui provided was fake and figured out what his real one was. A records check on the real name led to the discovery of two warrants, one which was for a felony.
Jauregui was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving without a license and falsely identifying to a peace officer, as well as his two warrants.
