At about 1:03 am Monday morning, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported shooting that had just occurred at The Vista Apartments, 900 West Monte Vista Avenue, Turlock.
Officers arrived on scene to chaos within the complex and began to search for where the shooting had occurred. While attempting to do so, a local hospital called to report that they had just received a gunshot victim with a wound to his elbow that confirmed he was shot at The Vista Apartments.
Eventually, officers were able to locate where the shooting had occurred, which was a location just east of the clubhouse which had an unknown number of shell casings.
Officers set up a crime scene and began.
At about 2:33 am, while officers were still investigating the first shooting, a second one occurred within the complex. Officers ran to where they believed the second shooting occurred at and attempted to stop two subjects, later identified as Jared Ruben Rosas, 18, of Modesto, and Christopher Lee Henderson, 31, of Merced. Rosas immediately complied and was taken into custody without further incident, while Henderson led officers on a brief foot chase before he was eventually taken into custody.
Rosas was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and willfully discharging a firearm with negligence, while Henderson was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting an executive officer with violence.
The investigations remain on-going.
