At about 12:10 pm Sunday afternoon, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported hit and run vehicle collision with no injuries at the intersection of West F Street and South First Street.
A description of the responsible vehicle was aired to patrol officers and one in the area of Dels Lane and West Tuolumne Road spotted a vehicle matching the description with moderate front end damage, consistent with the type of collision it had been involved in. That officer stopped the vehicle and got out with its driver, whose identity is currently unknown.
The subject admitted to being involved in the collision and stated that he ran because he was scared. The officer investigating the collision responded to the stop and placed the subject under arrest. He was released on a citation on charges of hit and run causing property damage.
