At about 3:25 pm Tuesday afternoon, the Turlock Police Department aired a be on the lookout to patrol officers of a reckless white Ford SUV that could not maintain a lane in the area of North Golden State Boulevard and West Taylor Road. As the be on the lookout was being aired, an officer in the 2400 block of Roberts Road spotted the vehicle and stopped it after noticing that its driver, later identified as Edward Wilson, 24, of Modesto, was not wearing a seatbelt.
The officer noticed signs of intoxication coming from Wilson and asked him to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. The results of those tests gave the officer probable cause to affect an arrest. Wilson was arrested and released on a citation on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater.
