At about 4:42 am Friday morning, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at Arco AMPM, 2219 Lander Avenue, Turlock.

As officers were responding to the scene, the suspect’s description and last known direction of travel was relayed to them. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate him as there was dense fog in the area at the time.

Officers began investigating and determined that the suspect, a hispanic male in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, wearing a red bandana and rubber gloves, had entered the store armed with a gun and demanded an undisclosed amount of currency from the clerk. The suspect then allowed a customer to buy something and then demanded that the clerk give him that currency as well, before he fled on foot towards the Travelodge.

The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Edgar Meraz at 209-668-6559.
