At about 10:15 pm Saturday night, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person in the 500 block of Angelus Street, Turlock, who was in an alleyway hitting vehicles.
The first arriving officer located a subject, later identified as Jose Cisneros, 40, of Turlock, who was in the area holding a board in his hands. The officer ordered Cisneros to drop the board and surrender multiple times, however, Cisneros refused to comply and began aggressively yelling at officers.
After several more commands, Cisneros finally dropped the board, but began to walk away.
As additional officers began to arrive on scene, Cisneros lunged at an officer that was inside his patrol vehicle and then another one who was on foot. Cisneros collided with the officer who was on foot and they both fell to the ground.
Cisneros began to batter the officer, and was tased to prevent him from further injuring himself or others and to be able to safely take him into custody.
Cisneros was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting an executive officer with violence and battery on a peace officer in the performance of their duties.
