At about 1:02 am Sunday morning, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapons offense that had just occurred at La Cantina, 142 South First Street, Turlock, after a driveby shooting had just occurred outside where two subjects had shot at the bar.
While officers were responding, they received information that the suspects had fled the scene southbound in a red Ford pickup truck. An officer went southbound on South Golden State Boulevard out of town and ended up finding a matching vehicle near Golf Road.
The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle by activating his red light and sounding his siren, however, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Eduardo Saudeco, 29, of Winton, decided he did not want to stop and continued southbound, eventually merging onto State Route 99. Saudeco then exited at Bradbury Road and stopped on the overpass.
A high risk stop was conducted and Saudeco and his passenger, later identified as Saul Lara Carilo, 24, of Delhi, were taken into custody without further incident.
Both subjects were booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center, Saudeco on charges of discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling, flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety, and driving under the influence, and Carillo on charges of discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling and smuggling substances into a jail.
No injuries were reported. At least two shell casings were located at the scene.
