At about 11:51 am Friday morning, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a sick person in the 500 block of C Street, where a subject had called 911 reporting that he was armed with a gun and wanted to kill himself.
After having a brief conversation with the dispatcher, the subject hung up and a few seconds later someone else called to report that a subject had just shot himself in the area. The Turlock Fire Department and American Medical Response were dispatched.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a 42-year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Crews attempted life-saving measures, however, despite their best efforts, the subject succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The gun used was a Glock 17 9 millimeter. It was recovered at the scene.
The investigation remains on-going.
