At about 12:50 am Sunday morning, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of North Tully Road and West Canal Drive, Turlock, on-viewed a driver violate the California Vehicle Code and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The driver, whose identity is currently unknown, pulled over and the officer made contact with him.
The officer noticed signs of intoxication coming from the subject and asked him to participate in standardized field sobriety tests.
The subject participated in two tests but then refused to participate in others or to blow into a preliminary alcohol screening device after realizing he failed miserably. Based on the subject’s driving, his signs of intoxication, and the results of the two tests, officers developed probable cause to believe that he was intoxicated.
The subject was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving while intoxicated.
