At about 11:20 pm Sunday night, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with no injuries in the 500 block of West Main Street, Turlock.
When officers arrived on scene, they located three vehicles involved. One was a red Honda coupe, one was a gray Infiniti sedan, and the other was a blue Chrysler SUV.
The red Honda coupe had one occupant, later identified as Robert Arndt, 38, of Turlock. He was uninjured. The other two vehicles were parked and unoccupied.
Officers noticed that Arndt was exhibiting signs of intoxication, so they asked him to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. The results of those tests gave officers probable cause to believe that Arndt was intoxicated.
Witnesses reported that Arndt was traveling westbound on West Main Street when for an unknown reason, he collided with the blue Chrysler SUV which got pushed into the gray Infiniti sedan.
The red Honda coupe sustained moderate damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away. The other two vehicles sustained minor damage.
Arndt was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on unknown charges.
