Driver Flees After Striking Bicyclist and Causing Shoulder Injury

At about 5:15 pm Tuesday evening, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of West Canal Drive and North Front Street, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a bicycle down in the roadway with its rider next to it conscious and alert.

The bicycle rider suffered minor injuries to his shoulder and refused to be transported to the hospital.

A vehicle had struck him, but had fled the scene prior to crews’ arrival.

The bicycle sustained minor damage.

The bicyclist reported that he was heading eastbound on West Canal Drive when the vehicle ran a stop sign and exited a parking lot, striking him.
