Sideshow Enforcement Takes Place

At about 8:00 pm Friday night, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported sideshow in progress at Tractor Supply Co, 201 North Walnut Road, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a group of over one hundred vehicles in the parking lot participating in a meet.

Officers staged in the area and made several traffic stops, issuing citations for various moving and equipment California Vehicle Code violations.

The sheriff’s airship responded to provide aerial support during the duration of the meet.

At about 9:50 pm, the sheriff’s airship spotted a silver Ram pickup truck doing burnouts in the parking lot and directed ground units to it. Officers were able to stop the vehicle as it was attempting to leave the parking lot. The driver, whose identity is currently unknown, was arrested and released on a citation on charges of reckless driving in an offstreet parking facility. His vehicle was impounded.
