At about 9:04 pm Thursday night, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense in progress at Grandview Apartments, 100 East Hawkeye Avenue, Turlock, after several calls were received reporting shots fired at the apartment complex.
Officers arrived on scene and were told by witnesses that all the suspects had left the area in a white Chevrolet sedan.
Officers began investigating and determined that there was a group of bicyclists who were approached by two male subjects in a vehicle wanting to start an argument. The two then got into their vehicle and left the area, returning within minutes with two additional male subjects. All but one of the four males then chased the group of bicyclists to the apartment complex, firing off several shots in the process. Luckily, no one was hit. One of the males then stole one of the victim’s bicycles and rode off with it, while the other two got back into the vehicle they arrived in and fled the scene.
Detectives were notified and responded to process the scene. So far, detectives believe that this was a gang related incident.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation remains on-going.
