At about 2:26 am Monday morning, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of West Avenue North and Park Street, Turlock, spotted a vehicle driving at excessive speeds and running stop signs, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it.
The vehicle’s driver decided she did not want to stop and a pursuit ensued. The woman led officers southbound on North Soderquist Road and then westbound on West Main Street before hopping onto northbound State Route 99.
The officer chased the woman all the way up to West Taylor Road, where he ultimately lost sight of her after she turned off her headlights and took the exit without the officer noticing.
Another officer in the area spotted the vehicle headed northbound on North Golden State Boulevard approaching East Keyes Road, however, he also lost it while attempting to catch up near the intersection of Maud Avenue and Tenth Street, Keyes.
Speeds during the pursuit reached an excess of one hundred miles per hour.
The officer initiating the pursuit was able to tell that the driver was a white female and that the passenger was a black male.
The investigation remains on-going.
