At about 1:50 am Monday morning, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of North Golden State Boulevard and Twentieth Century Boulevard, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.
The officer made contact with the vehicle’s driver and her passenger, Ruben Agundez, 38, of Turlock.
Agundez originally provided his brother’s name, who turned out to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Modesto for shoplifting. While beginning transport to jail, Agundez came clean and gave his actual name. He turned out to have a felony warrant out of Stanislaus County for possession of methamphetamines for sale.
Agundez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of bringing a controlled substance into a jail or prison as well as his warrant.
The driver of the vehicle was lectured and released for her original California Vehicle Code violation.
