At about 11:05 pm Tuesday night, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense that had just occurred in the 2500 block of Crowell Road, Turlock.
When officers arrived on scene, they found around ten 9mm shell casings lying in the roadway on Crowell Road between Campbell Way and Berry Drive. They were collected and booked into evidence.
Officers spoke to witnesses who told them that they saw an unknown person in a white sedan driving southbound on Crowell Road while firing a handgun into the air before fleeing the area eastbound on West Tuolumne Road.
Homes and vehicles in the area were checked and there were no signs that any of the bullets struck them.
No injuries were reported.
