At about 2:27 am Thursday morning, a Turlock Police officer near Latif’s Restaurant, 111 North Golden State Boulevard, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver, Shannon Callahan, 31, of Modesto, and her passenger.

The officer had his dispatcher run both subjects and Callahan’s passenger returned to be on probation for possession of stolen property, resisting a peace officer, auto theft, and hit and run with injuries.

A probation search of Callahan’s vehicle was conducted in the area where her passenger on probation was seated which resulted in the discovery of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia in the center console, an area accessible by both Callahan and her passenger.

Callahan admitted that the items were hers.

Callahan was arrested and released on a citation on charges of possession of methamphetamines and possession of drug paraphernalia.
