Man arrested on felony warrant after being recognized by officer Sunday afternoon

On Sunday, February 12th, 2023, at 12:53 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Broadway Park, 501 N Broadway, Turlock, recognized and got out with a man who he believed had a felony warrant.

When the officer had his dispatcher run the man, Marion Phillips, 67, of Turlock, his suspicions were confirmed as Phillips returned with a $100,500 local felony bench warrant for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

Phillips was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.

Teen Shot in the Rear-End by Other Teen

At about 2:20pm Wednesday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s and Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Kenwood Avenue, after several callers had reported hearing about 10 shots in the area.
